5 Things For A Friday
Firstly Happy International Women's Day and Mother's day on Sunday. i hope you also had a great World Book Day this week!
1. Great to hear the Highland Gathering is coming back – check our news section on the website for the date!
2. Lovely to see the Sunday Social received a lot of interest in the Polycrub (and the donation of wood from the Trust). The success if the Polycrub is now over to you.
3. The BioDiversity Group had their first event at the end of February. Great to see some proactive activity from this group as it fits nicely with Community Action Plan and Project Plan actions.
4. I hear there was meetings about Foyers Bay, email chat about the Riverside, meetings about Errogie next steps, I was at a meeting between school, community council, BCC and the Trust team about transport, caught up with Communities Housing Trust and SSE about funding for affordable housing, close to launching a new booking system for the Wildside Centre and lots of work going on at Inverfarigaig. I’m sure you will read all about it in the new forthcoming magazine.
5. Behind all these projects are Board Directors, volunteers and staff. This week I’ve been doing staff appraisals. This gives us time to say a dedicated thank you to staff and discuss their training needs, any issues we need to address, anything we need to celebrate and objectives for the next year. It also helps inform us where there may be gaps if we have the opportunity to review staff roles when someone leaves, as we do now. Above is just a sample of what everyone is up to and I extend my thanks to all the staff for the amazing work they are doing on behalf of the community. Good job!
