WILDSIDE FRIDAY
I’ve been up for a few days this week as I’m here for the Fireworks on Saturday. I’ve been meaning to sit down and write this since this morning but, as is the way in the ‘office’, there are so many things to do and respond to. At present there are lots of small children coming in as part of the Wildside consulation on play parks so I’ve escaped for ten minutes to write this.
FIREWORKS
After Covid the fireworks return this weekend down in Foyers. We hope you’ve had plenty of notice to prepare if you have pets and livestock you are concerned about and I believe we have asked for ‘quieter’ fireworks this year. It should be an enjoyable event and the weather isn’t looking too bad as well after a wild week. Don’t forget to wrap up warm and bring a torch or head torch if you can.
COST OF LIVING – FOOD AND FUEL GRANT
The Food and Fuel Grant to help alleviate the cost of living for those who need it has been launched this week. This is a departure for the Trust and funders which will be for this and next winter. The form to apply for the grant can be found here Help with Cost of Living | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
REMEMBER REMEMBER THE PULSE SURVEY
The Pulse Survey is launched for the second year on 5th November. This will give an indication of how the work of the community trust and our stakeholder partners are doing. Details here Taking the Pulse Community Survey 2022 | 04 November 2022 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
The results will be presented at the AGM. There is still time to stand as a Director. What’s it like? Read Maureen McGuire talking about her experience here Maureen's take on becoming a director. | 01 November 2022 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
LOCAL PLACE PLAN
Food produce to trail apps. Housing survey to planning applications. School consultations to kids choosing their favourite playparks. So much has been going on this week, all seemingly coming at the same time, it has been hard to keep up! We have been struggling to get dates in the diary there has been so much going on but I’d like to bring your attention to the second part of the Community Action Plan work – helping develop the local place plan. Details can be found here Your Local Place Plan! | 01 November 2022 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk) and more can be found in the next Trust newsletter which is also being signed off today and should be available to read online from Monday (or before).
