Following on from our Ukraine Appeal in Spring 2022, where we successfully collected £700 in donations, Soup to Go decided to sell beautiful items that were made and donated for our charity appeal by our local Wild Crafts crafters.
From mid October through to mid December, we sold various craft items on our Christmas Gifts table at our weekly lunch service. At the Winter Wonderland we provided a variety of cakes for refreshments, and we also had a stall selling the donated crafts.
We invited all our regular Monday diners to put the name of their preferred local charities into a pot and the winning charity, Multiple Sclerosis, was drawn by Matthew Rhodes, the new Facility Manager for the Wildside Centre.
On Monday 23rd January Leigh-Ann Little, the CEO, and Jenni Donnelly, the Operational Manager from The Oxygen Works in Inverness, came to the Wildside Centre to meet our regular diners and to tell us of their work supporting neurological conditions including Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsons.
We were delighted to host them at our version of a Burns lunch, which was complete with a surprise visit from Ernie the Haggis who performed a very amusing Ode from the Haggis!
After lunch we presented Leigh-Ann and Jenni with a cheque for £715 and further donation of £20 was given to them by one of the diners. We hope that these donations will help The Oxygen Works Ltd continue with their invaluable work in support of people suffering the effects of Multiple Sclerosis.
The Soup to Go team and the Wild Crafts crafters would like to express our utmost thanks to all of you who purchased crafts and donated towards this very worthy cause.
