Communities Housing Trust update

Community Housing Trust report on their proposed development at Hillhead.

The planning application was approved on 5^th May and the terms of the consent may be viewed on the Highland Council planning portal ref 22/00424/FUL Land 140MW of 1 Hillhead Inverfarigaig

The next step is for The Highland Council to consult with the community over a proposed 40 mph speed restriction. The Transport Planning department will consult with emergency services and the community in due course. The process is expected to take around four months.

We will be working on a building warrant application over the Summer and anticipate that construction work will start late Autumn this year.

We intend to share a simple newsletter with residents , the community council and the community development group every 6 weeks or so. This will start prior to construction and will continue whilst the project is on site. The intention is that the newsletter will provide information on the contract programme, the activities being carried out on site, key stages and so on including an email address for the submission of any questions or concerns during operations on site. Please do let us know if there is any specific information you would like us to include which you would find useful.

We are also giving notice that any vehicles, boats, trailers and other personal items currently stored on the site will need to be removed in advance of work starting, ideally by the end of August.

We are providing the same update to the Inverfarigaig Residents Group who are most directly affected by the development and will also update the community development trust.
