Work kicks off on Foyers Public Toilets!

Delighted to announce that work on the new Foyers public toilets and waste disposal point started on Monday 24th October 2022! This has been a long time coming but great to see it actually start.

The contractor, Compass Building and Construction Services from Inverness, have moved in their site office and welfare cabin for employees today (25th October). The construction period is around 16 weeks with a two week break for the festive period.

For the build period, the car park will only have one entrance and exit. Signs will be put up to make sure visitors are aware of this.

This is a joint project with the Community Council and the Community Trust as once completed, the Community Trust will own the building as the Community council's constitution is not appropriate for owning buildings as it would mean personal liability for the members but they Community trust will then lease the building to the Community council as they will manage the toilets.

75% of the funding for this project has come from the Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund as well as funding from Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust, SSE Stronelairg panel and Highland Council.
