5 THINGS FOR A FRIDAY
ONE YEAR IN
This week I celebrate one year in my role at Stratherrick and Foyers Community Trust. I cannot believe that is twelve months already! As suggested by you in the Community Action plan we have built a staff team
, seen other groups develop their staff teams and we have a Community Action Plan to guide us. Some projects are progressing, some are frustratingly slow and we are sharing how they develop step by step in our Projects Page on the website here Projects | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
I CAN DO THAT – END OF FEBRUARY DEADLINE
Our Community Action Groups begin in March. The end of February is the deadline to fill out the Stratherrick and Foyers Skills and Volunteer Survey so we can get in touch with you about those meeting and how you can contribute https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SFCSkillsSurvey - the survey will remain open until the end of March but if you want to join us and hit the ground running then please fill out the survey.
ERROGIE CHURCH VOLUNTEER DAY
The Errogie Team are having a Volunteer Day to clear the area outside and inside the Church. Details here Volunteer Day at Errogie Church | 17 February 2022 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
FUNDING Q&A – 4th March at 10am
Our second Trust Q&A is covering funding. It is on Friday 4th March at 10am. We will discuss how Action Groups can access funding for the Community Action Plan, introduce you to our two new fundraisers who can help groups access funds for Community Action Plan outcomes and SSE will be there to talk about their other funds available to you. If you wish to attend email admin@sfctrust.org.uk and you will be sent a Zoom link. Our grants programme remains open and details of all those can be found here Grants | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)
Employing our two new Fundraisers (as a job share) will help us raise the additional funds for the challenging projects we hope will come to fruition during the next five years. It will also give us the flexibility to apply for funds for projects we cannot fund from the windfarm/hydro community benefit we get, which will be welcome too. I am hoping we can also support other community groups in their applications to being additional funds to the area. More info soon!
RIVERSIDE FIELD
Community Council and affected residents have been sent notification by Planning about a change they wish to make to the entrance way to the Field. Ideally the Planning Department would have informed residents about this following discussions with them in October (see 21st October info here Riverside Field | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk) )!
I can only apologise to residents and those interested in seeing this development progress about how long planning are taking on this but we will continue to inform you via our weekly Project Page. All I can say is we have provided material asked of us by Highland Council when requested. Once we get some clarity we will inform interested stakeholders about next steps and within that a group specifically about how the development will progress.
