This week we confirmed a number of contracts, conducted interviews for a Project Co-ordinator, continued work on match funding applications, finished editing the magazine, talked through potential ideas and partnerships and, at times, felt there wasn’t enough hours in the day - but this week I wanted to give you a Team Talk.
What does Team stand for?
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More
And you have been putting that into practice. Amidst tears and tantrums the good ideas shone through and as the weather seems not to be improving you can stay indoors, watch the end of the football season or enjoy several Community Action Group videos to catch up on what was said!
BETTER CONNECTIONS
What practical actions are needed for transport, getting around and broadband. Once again, the power of local folk to develop workable solutions to complex challenges shone through - according to Nick Wright and his team! COMMUNITY LIFE
There was a session on community life and what it actually means to you. Check it out here Community Life: workshop summary | Future Ideas (communityfuture.net)
ORGANISING OURSELVES
How do we get things done and still get on with each other? Check it out here Organising Ourselves: workshop summary | Future Ideas (communityfuture.net)
OUTDOOR AND NATURE
It’s all around us – but how can we use it to it’s full potential? Find out more here Outdoors and Nature: workshop summary | Future Ideas (communityfuture.net)
OUR HOMES
This workshop ook place last night and will appear on the blog soon. That was the last of the five action groups at this stage. They will continue in June as we talk more tactics and knit ideas together. So with the first half over it gives us all a time to reflect and have a TEAM talk. So everyone gather round (even if you haven’t yet participated) and sign up to the second Community Assembly that takes place on Thursday 27th May at 7.30pm. Details of how to sign up here Book your spot for 2nd Assembly Meeting! | Future Ideas (communityfuture.net)
So don’t just be a spectator – join the TEAM. The second half of Action Groups is in June and you can still help your community go for goal. If you’ve got what it takes to avoid a red card and hit the back of the net then please accept no substitutes and join us on the pitch. And I promise I will make no more references to football terminology next Friday!
