GOSSIP FOR A FRIDAY

The Communications Team have been tweaking things at the start of the year to help improve Communications between the Trust (and other groups) and the community.  Here’s just some of the work they have been doing.

TO YOUR DOOR NEWSLETTER

1 The Newsletter and Magazine format will change, which will mean we can now post out the newsletter to each household within the current budget.  Previously a small number of newsletters were printed and shared on the website.  You will now receive both the newsletter and magazine to read over a wee cuppa, direct to your door!

BOOK IT!

2 We are going to trial an online booking service for the Wildside Centre.  This will mean you can easily book the Centre, not waiting hours on end to get an answer on availability, and it will streamline the administration function behind that.  If successful we will roll out to our other Trust buildings and offer the functionality to other groups too.

PROMOTE SEASONAL JOBS

3 We will soon be sending out a call to all local businesses to advertise your jobs, particularly seasonal jobs, on our website.  Our Comms Team will then make that widely available via other networks so people looking for work will see all the great opportunities available in the area.  This will hopefully support local business with your employment needs, which adds to the sustainability of your business in the long term.  We may extend this to Volunteer Opportunities too.

GALLERIES, SFCT TV AND WE NEED A BIGGER WEBSITE

4 We have been making tweaks to the website as there are over 700 stories on there now, trying to make it manageable to see the newer material but still be able to access the older stuff.  Updates of sections continue, including all policies reviewed during 2023.  Plus a gallery of photographs that you can enjoy or community groups can use for their publicity materials in the future and a section for videos – or SFCT TV – which will hopefully engage everyone of all ages to make short, interesting videos of what life is like in the Strath.

INSIDE GOSSIP ON WHAT YOU ARE READING!

5 The team have started sending out a regular email bulletin every Wednesday, rather than random emails throughout the week at different time of the day.  That links to key stories on our (or others) websites.  We hope you find that useful.  Behind all this is our website analytics which we can use to assess what you are reading on the website, what is of interest to you and perhaps what we need to communicate a little harder.  Of course some key words attract you to some posts more than others – like ‘dogs’ or ‘gossip’.  I hope you enjoyed this 5 Things For A Friday – and our little bit of gossip this week x
