Even with just two matches played last Saturday, the impact on the early rankings in North Two has been quite marked. Boleskine lost to Lewis at home at Inverarnie with a 0-2 scoreline. The Lewis lads expect to score more than that, so Boleskine did well to deny them any more ‘goals for’. In the second game last Saturday Kilmallie won 2 - 0 against Caberfeidh.
Looking forward, Kilmallie and Kingussie still have a 100% win record. Kilmallie travel to the Dell to meet Kingussie this Saturday, March 23rd (2.30pm t/u). This will be a real test for both sides.
Astie’s team has scheduled a full card of four matches this week. The other three ties are Boleskine at home to Aberdeen University (2.30pm). This is always a good tie. Caberfeidh play host to Lewis at Strathpeffer at 2.30pm where the islanders will want to improve on their two-goal tally gathered last week. Strathglass are due to descend on Spean Bridge for a bottom-of-the-table match against Lochaber (2.30pm).
Now, it is still too early for predictions. I’m not called Aarron or Cammy, but I think Kilmallie and Lewis will deny Kingussie a return to North 2 this year, helped of course by the rest of the clan in the division.
