THE STRATHERRICK AND FOYERS COMMUNITY SKILLS AND VOLUNTEER AUDIT
Thanks to everyone who attended the Winter Wonderland at the weekend. A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help bring it together and who helped to tidy up afterwards so the volunteers at Soup 2 Go could run their Monday event without too much interruption.
We value the work volunteers do so much, which is why at the recent Community Action Plan we also gave a thank you to everyone who volunteers for our community. Many of you volunteer, usually around your life stages. Some of you we know. Some of you we do not. What was obvious during the extensive consultation period undertaken for the Community Action Plan there was a variety of skills that could help take our community plans forward. Some had time on their hands. Some would have to work any support around their life commitments.
The Community Trust have launched a Skills and Volunteer Audit so we can capture what skills we have and then will help direct those skills around the time you have. That means you do not necessarily have to join a group, a committee or be part of our new ‘Action Groups’ launching in the New Year but you can give some time if your knowledge and skills may help.
You can fill out the survey here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SFCSkillsSurvey
The FIVE AREAS you may be able to help with are
Community Life
Getting About
Outdoors & Nature
Our Homes
Organising Ourselves.
Check the action and potential partners on the last two pages of the Community Action Plan sent to your door for a summary, read more details in the Plan (and see how your help will impact community members) and let us know if you feel your skills can help. It is a terrific way to engage and meet new people and have an impact on your community in a positive way and you would be most welcome. If you do not have the plan you can read it online here Home | Future Ideas (communityfuture.net)
