5 Things for a Friday - Gala Special

Friday, 16 July 2021
- We are so excited that our Summer Gala & Community Market is just around the corner! Come and join us at the Wildside Centre on Saturday 24th July between 11am and 3pm for our first proper community get-together for 16 months or so! There are over 20 confirmed stalls organised by Stratherrick & Foyers Markets and 8 confirmed Community Groups taking part which is fantastic! This is a great opportunity for our Community groups to come together and do some fundraising and meet and greet the Community – we have a raffle, Tombola, Guess the Peebles and lots more
- Nick Wright will be attending with his team to chat to you all safely about the Community Action Plan, where we are and what is still to come. If you would like to ask questions and find out more information face to face, then please pop along and have a chat. Remember you can check on the status of the CAP at Nick’s website here.
- We have lots on for the children in the community too! There is a fantastic Children’s Miniature Garden Competition which you can find details of here. Now is the perfect time to start creating that magical mini garden and look out for fantastic prizes for the winners.
The kids disco in the Marquee should prove popular with a glitter ball, inflatable instruments, and lots more, so bring yourselves and the children along and boogie away (yes adults are welcome too!) to some fantastic tunes!
- The Soup to Go team are cooking up a storm for the event with a wide range of food options available, including a BBQ, sandwiches, tea, coffee and traybakes! This will be a cash only stand, so please spread the word to your friends, neighbours and family so raid the house for any loose change you have been desperate to get rid of!
- This is a COVID-friendly environment! We are taking a great deal of care to minimise any potential risk of COVID so please:
- Do not attend if you feel unwell.
- Please sanitise at every stand and only touch what you may purchase.
- Please stick to 2 metre distancing where possible.
- Face coverings are advised but not compulsory in outdoor spaces, however they are compulsory in the inside of The Wildside Centre.
- Please adhere to all signage throughout the grounds of The Wildside Centre.
- There will also be a ‘check in’ system when you come into the Gala via your phone or by paper.
We know this looks scary, but it is intended to keep us all safe and help us enjoy this fantastic community event!
