FIVE THINGS FOR A FRIDAY
GET YOUR HOUSING SURVEY IN
We have almost 70 Housing Surveys in but we are keen for more so to ensure you have your say we’ve kept it open for two more weeks here.
COST OF LIVING
I’m please to say SSE have approved our grants to cover the cost of living for this and next winter. This support should be up and running by beginning of November from the Knockie Trust.
BUSINESS SUPPORT
We are also investigating how we can support business more and I’m pleased to say SSE have agreed to this in principle. The project has to have social outcomes and support the community locally. More details on that soon. Both the Cost of Living Project and Business Support are unusual and specifically for this winter and next.
COMMUNICATIONS
Wanted to highlight the work Jillian Barclay has been doing on Communications and this very web site. You’ve probably noticed some changes of late – advice for Cost of Living here Help with Cost of Living | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk) , the What’s On section appearing at the beginning of the week, pages and news being updated and shared on social media more, adding more Community Action Plan Projects to keep you up to date, working on the newsletter and the magazine plus taking the lead on Winter Wonderland. We recently both attended a meeting with Nick Wright about the spatial planning work which will help you visualise the CAP in the area where you live. Watch out for details soon. All very exciting stuff!
NO FIVE THINGS FOR A FRIDAY NEXT WEEK
With the October holidays approaching some staff are taking a wee break, myself included. Other staff and volunteers continue the work so full marks to them as they are all amazing! If you are going away somewhere nice have a great holiday.
