The Highland Council are reminding residents, businesses and community organisations about the opportunity to provide feedback on access to services and people’s experience of living in Highland.
The consultations on Local Living and the Highland Place Standard Tool are being run to help understand the current service provision and access to services across Highland, and to shape future plans and inform how communities might be improved.
The Local Living tool scores the accessibility of 16 different services, for example shops, greenspace, leisure and schools in over 120 Highland settlements. The consultation asks about how the services have been scored before it is used in the Council’s new Local Development Plan. The interactive Local Living map is available here and the consultation is available here.
This consultation closes on 16 August 2024. Residents, businesses and community organisations are encouraged to provide feedback before the deadline to ensure their views are considered.
The Place Standard consultation – available here - is looking for feedback on what makes for a good place to live, work, play, and visit. It asks simple questions about people’s experience of living in Highland. This consultation is ongoing, though we encourage individuals and groups to complete the survey at the earliest opportunity.
Any enquiries can be directed to hldp@highland.gov.uk.
