Sailing Vessel Grayhound on Loch Ness this week.

Look out on Loch Ness this week (probably Wednesday 13th passing Urquhart Castle and Foyers) as this distinctive boat sails from Inverness to Corpach!

Built as a replica of a boat first built in 1776, this amazing sailing ship was completed in Cornwall just eleven years ago. She has a worldwide licence and is even fitted with two cannons! The boat is a revenue lugger of a type once used by pirates, and those trying to catch them!

‘Grayhound’ was built in Cornwall and heading for Oban, Troon, Ireland, France, Portugal, Spain and across the Atlantic Ocean for a winter in the Caribbean. She is due back on the West Coast of Scotland next autumn.
