SAVE THE DATE

24TH November will be the Trust AGM.  It will be ‘hybrid’, depending on how things go, so some people should be able to attend in person or from your home if you wish.  I know I mentioned this last week but we want to make sure it is stuck in your brain for a possible cold winters night entertainment!

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESS – LOCAL ONLINE DIRECTORY

Steven, our Community Liaison Officer, is adding local businesses to the new Business Directory – an online resource being developed by the Trust to help you find a local business when required.  It can also help business to business too!  You can choose by category, search or see them on the main page.  Steven has been actively in touch so local businesses can use this free service so if you want to be part of it contact him at clo@sfctrust.org.uk

PROJECT UPDATES

Behind the scenes so much has been going on it’s hard to summarise this week – but we are trying to keep you informed of activity on projects here and we will add more once the Community Action Plan is announced Projects | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)

There are updates on Communications, Foyers Bay, Riverside, the Wildside Centre and Errogie Church.  Sometimes things are in our control, sometimes they are not.  Hopefully this approach can give you an idea when delays happen or projects seem to suddenly progress faster than you anticipated.  Coupled with our regular newsletters and magazines we hope to keep you as informed as we can.

WRITERS BLOCK

I was entrusted with an article for the magazine this week and suddenly I found myself with writers block!  I’m putting it down to several factors – birthdays, family going back to Uni, school, commuting back to the office, getting into some kind of routine while the spectre of Covid seems to loom large on the doorstep still so my mind has been juggling other things and realising I’ve been in a new job for six months now!  A few people have talked about making sure you speak to people if things get on top of you, some have even suggested a men’s group for the area alongside several other ideas worth exploring that help your mental health and well-being.  You can now book the Wildside Centre for this, your events and any clubs and groups you want to set up.

Prices for booking the Wildside Centre are on the booking form.  If you have a new idea that benefits the community we will waive the cost of booking the Centre while you establish your group.  If you book an event for a birthday party, significant birthday, celebration or wedding you get a discount as a member of the Trust.  All the funds will go back into maintaining the building and creating local employment.  See the first item on Five Things For A Friday this week (writers block cured!)
