5 THINGS FOR A FRIDAY

THE PULSE SURVEY

Thanks to everyone who has already filled out the Pulse Survey, which was developed with the Scottish Community Development Centre.  Still time to fill it out before 21st November here Taking the Pulse Community Survey 2023 (surveymonkey.co.uk)

COMMUNITY FIREWORKS

Thanks to all of you who came to the Community Fireworks.  Thanks also to the members of the community who put it all together, those who prepared the food, volunteers and staff.  An amazing event for a perfect night.  We’d love your feedback so we can improve on the event next year.  Fill out the evaluation survey here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/firew2023

REMEMBER REMEMBER

With war in Ukraine and war in the Middle East we ask that you attend the Remembrance Sunday event at 3pm – and check out an amazing sight at the War Memorial too! Lest we forget.  A SPECTACULAR SIGHT! | 09 November 2023 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)

MADE THE PRESS

The Stratherrick and Foyers community made the newspapers last week.  You can read the story here Loch Ness community plots new use for disused forest classroom (pressandjournal.co.uk)

You can also read about us on the Development Trust Association of Scotland blog.  We are part of DTAS which has over 300 members from communities all over Scotland.  We share good practice in community development and also learn from each other and how to meet the challenges we all face.  Read about their visit to Stratherrick and Foyers here News / Events | Development Trusts Association Scotland (dtascot.org.uk)

KNOCKIE TRUST AGM & TRUST AGM

The Baby and Toddler Group shared what they had been up to this year on our website.  Check it out here Baby Boom at the Wildside Centre! | 06 November 2023 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)

The Walking Group shared another local walk here Walk the Walk! | 09 November 2023 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)

Behind the headline this week we have been working on projects from the Slipway to Funding to Inverfarigiag Land to polycrubs at Wildside to wood for next winter to Transport to Housing and more.  More importantly the Knockie Trust volunteers have received your applications for help with food and fuel this winter and, as last year, have agreed to review applications and support as many people as we can.  This is the final year this direct support will be made available.

The Knockie Trust AGM is on 15th November, 4.30pm at the Wildside Centre.

The Trust AGM is on 29th November at 7.30pm.  Read more about it here Notice of Annual General Meeting | 09 November 2023 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)

I’m sure that is  more than 5 things for a Friday but there is so much going on!
