The Wildside Growing Group grows from strength to strength!

Having recently received a grant from SFCT the Wildside Growing Group are in the process of transforming the Polycrub at the Wildside Centre. There’s an abundance of squash’s, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, chilis, carrots and herbs to name a few! An irrigation system has just been purchased to support with the watering of the Polycrub and fruit trees are on the way. The group are looking at developing their own compost heaps to be self-sufficient over the coming years.

As the group are spending more time at the Polycrub, the wildlife in the immediate area is becoming more apparent! There is now a resident slow worm in the Polycrub and several others have been spotted outside. Did you know slow worms are in fact protected species and are legless lizards? You can find lots more about our resident slow worms at the Wildlife Trust website HERE!
