The Local Place Plan is the next step on from the Community Action Plan: taking forward the themes and action areas set down by the community and beginning to visualise how priorities from the plan will land on the ground.
In 2021, the Community Action Plan set out five action areas reflecting the community’s priorities: better playparks, more affordable homes, better footpaths and safer cycling, and much more.
But the Community Action Plan doesn’t say where affordable homes should be built. It doesn’t say where new or better playparks are needed. It doesn’t say which paths should be improved. It doesn’t say where those affordable homes are most needed. It doesn’t say which footpaths and cycle routes should be improved. And so on...
So, we want to find out what you think about all those things and then use your ideas to create a plan called a Local Place Plan. It’s a new feature of Scottish planning legislation that gives communities real influence over planning policy and public services.
