The children of Stratherrick & Foyers show off their artistic talents

On Monday 22nd January, Caroline from SFCT, along with local Artist Jacqueline Briggs, went in to Stratherrick Primary school to run the first in a series of workshops with the children from both Stratherrick and Aldourie to produce a design for a new stained glass window for Errogie Church.

As part of the next phase of the Errogie Church project, we are keen to involve a wide range of groups and individuals from the community, and this includes the local children. The steering group discussed some options of how this might work, and the idea of creating a new stained glass window came about. We will be holding a series of workshops throughout the spring to engage with all the children of the strath to create a suitable design. We have applied for funding to allow us to take the design forward and produce a new window, which will replace one in the gable end of the church that got broken many years ago, and provide a lasting link to Errogie Church for all of those involved. Below are some of the designs the children came up with – I hope you agree that we have some talented youngsters in our community!

We will be holding a couple of workshops over the coming months for children who do not go to Stratherrick or Aldourie – please keep an eye on the website and social media for more information.
