FIVE THINGS FOR A FRIDAY

2. This week we had the AGM and you can read a short report here Catriona Fraser becomes Chair of Trust at AGM night | 30 November 2023 | Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust (stratherrickcommunity.org.uk)  Thanks to the team who supported the event this year and made things run smoothly for participants and for the Board of Directors reporting to the communtiy on the night.
3. Of particular interest to some of you is we are working with Communities Housing Trust to deliver two homes for affordable homes to rent.  That will be four in total by the end of 2024.  There is a debate to be had, a few t’s to cross and I’s to dot but we are working on it.
4. We have just got funding from Highland Council to move the Community Transport project forward.  Once again the devil is in the detail and we are keen to work with other community partners with some joined up thinking.
5. Finally our team are working hard to help deliver after school care in the Primary School which we hope will support parents/carers and help increase the numbers in the school.  Some decisions to make this happen are in the hands of others but we hope we can move this forward in 2024 too.    

All of this work is underpinned by volunteers working in the community to make things happen in the Community Action Plan and Place Plan. Thank you so much for the work you do. There is also a lot of volunteers and staff work going into Winter Wonderland which takes place next Friday and Saturday.  Thanks to you all for what I hope will be a great festive event for the season.
